Catrina Wessels Rights Management will be participating in the Book Adaptation Rights Market of the Venice Film Festival again this year. This is the 11th edition of the Book Adaptation Rights Market. It will take place from 4 – 6 September and allows participants to propose their entire catalogue for film adaptation instead of focusing on a single book or limited projects. We are looking forward to this excellent opportunity to explore adaptation opportunities for the compelling books we represent and to connect with producers, streamers, studios and other industry role-players from across the globe.

Ouida Smit will be in attendance as representative of Catrina Wessels Rights Management. Smit is an award-winning filmmaker (2003 Diop Djibril Mambetty Prize at the Critics Week, Cannes Film Festival for “The Sky In Her Eyes”, a short film) and creator of children’s programming (15 Years UNICEF Prize 2011). Since 2005, she has enabled storytellers in postproduction for Augustuscolor, a photochemical film laboratory based in Rome.
